With Central Park Tours, cycle your way to the stunning Belvedere Castle, a Victorian-style structure built in 1869 atop Central Park’s Vista Rock, the highest point in the park. Built of grey granite, the castle has an eclectic past, having been completed under the infamous Tammany Hall political organization, and later housing the New York Meteorological Observatory. In 1983, the Central Park Conservancy opened the building to the public. Bonus: there are fantastic views from the castle!
Another highlight of this tour is a stop at the Shakespeare Garden, which contains plants mentioned in Shakespearean works such as mulberry trees and wild thyme. Planted in 1916, this garden is close to the Delacorte Theater, also home to the New York Shakespeare Festival.
